KPop Demon Hunters Floats to Take Center Stage at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade
As Thanksgiving approaches, the selection of giant inflatables for the 99th Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade has been revealed. Fans of the animated hit KPop Demon Hunters have something exciting to look forward to, as fan-favorite mascots Sussie and Derpy Tiger are scheduled to make an appearance as spectacular floats.
This famous event is held annually in New York City, featuring a diverse array of inflatable figures from different corners of pop culture. Previous appearances have included characters ranging from SpongeBob SquarePants and Scooby-Doo to popular anime series like Dragon Ball and One Piece.
Introducing the Characters: Sussie and Derpy Tiger
These two adorable animal mascots are featured in the hit animated show KPop Demon Hunters. Within the series' plot, Huntr/x is a K-pop girl group by day and a team of demon slayers by night, using their voices to restore the Honmoon and shield humanity from invading demons. Much like Huntr/x and the Saja Boys, these mascots have gained a massive following of fans worldwide and are expected to be a memorable highlight for audiences of all ages during the parade.
A Stellar Year for KPop Demon Hunters
One could easily claim that 2025 has been the year of KPop Demon Hunters. The Sony Animation production has risen to number one as the top-viewed movie on the streaming platform, earned five nominations at the Grammys, and the singing stars behind Huntr/x—Ejae (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey)—recently performed on a popular television program, presenting a breathtaking spectacular act.
Adding to the excitement, Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami are also scheduled to make an appearance during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Viewers can look forward to a potentially "Golden" performance from the group.
Future Plans for the Franchise?
A new feature film, KPop Demon Hunters 2, is said to be in the works, with a expected debut in 2029. While it's a long wait, the immense popularity for the first movie indicates that audiences are eager for a sequel that lives up to the first installment. For now, everyone can look forward to the incredible inflatable versions of Derpy Tiger and Sussie at the upcoming Thanksgiving parade.
