Esteemed Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in iconic television series including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently following cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with zest and passion".
An Extensive Television Career
His initial on-screen part was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, playing a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and "Santa Paws 2".
Beyond the Screen
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
